1/7/2023-Tyler Starks leads Team USA to 4-2 win over Puerto Rico. For the 2nd day in a row for Team USA 7 innings was not enough as they needed 8 innings to defeat Puerto Rico 4-2. Tyler Starks picked up the win throwing two innings out of the pen and came up huge with the game winning hit in the 8th. Starks was 3 for 4 as a hitter with 2 rbis. Keyshawn Reed threw 4-2/3 innings limiting Puerto Rico to 1 run.

Puerto lead 1-0 for most of the game and got an excellent pitching performance by Jimmy Rivera. Rivera also went 2-2 at the plate and hit a leadoff double in the 7th inning and scored the tieing run to send the game to extras.

Puerto Rico was eliminated from Pool A with the loss. USA 2-0 will meet Mexico for Pool A Championship with the winner moving on the meet Cuba in the Finals.
