1/7/2023-Venezuela beats Cuba South 2-1 on a 7th inning bunt. Venezuela's Edinson Diaz set the Coastal Baseball Classic Strikeout Record with 16 strikeouts in 7 innings. Cuba South's Osmar still shutout Venezuela 1-0 through six innings. In the 7th inning Freddy Villalovos singled to lead off the inning. Venezuela called on Luis Mejia to pinch hit and he got a bunt single on a sacrifice attempt. After this formula for success, Venezuela did it again. Jose Stelluti pinch hit for Venezuela. He bunted and the Cuban catcher threw the ball over the first basemans head allowing both runs to score and end the game with a 2-1 Venezuela win.
