1/6/2023-Seven Innings wasn't enough for Team Mexico North and the USA to settle the score on opening day at the Coastal Classic. Both Teams agreed to play the 8th inning and there was plenty of daylight for the game to be played out. Tim Jones two out single drove in Eric Yelding to lead USA to a 5-4 win.
Team Mexico controlled the game for 6-1/2 innings. Team USA rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th. Tim Jones came in to pitch the 5th/6th/7th/8th inning. Jones was called on in the bottom of the 8th. He hit in place of the DH and drove in the winning run for USA.
